Achievements & Why I Deserve This Recognition

I am Abdinasir Abdikadir Mohamed, professionally known as 4C Arts, a Somali contemporary visual artist, painter, muralist, curator, and creative leader. My work focuses on portrait painting, murals, contemporary Somali art, cultural storytelling, and representing Somali identity through visual art.

Throughout my journey, I have received 7 awards — 6 local awards and 1 international award. Most notably, I received the Best Excellence Award – Art at the East African Youth Awards, representing Somali visual art on an international platform.

One of my most significant achievements was representing Somalia through the Somali National Pavilion at La Biennale di Venezia in Italy, one of the world's most prestigious international art platforms. My participation contributed to the historic presentation of Somali art on this global stage, marking an important moment for the visibility of Somali contemporary art internationally.

I have also participated in exhibitions, live painting performances, murals, cultural programmes, and community art initiatives, using my work to tell Somali stories and connect art with society.

I am also the Founder of RAADKA FANKA Art Center, a platform I created to support Somali artists, develop young creatives, preserve Somali art and culture, and create opportunities for artists to learn, exhibit, collaborate, and grow professionally.

I believe I deserve the NOVA Excellence Award because my journey goes beyond personal artistic success. I have dedicated my work to representing Somalia, promoting Somali art internationally, inspiring young artists, and building opportunities for the next generation.

I am not only creating art; I am representing Somalia through art and building a lasting legacy for Somali artists.
