Motivated Mindset Dancers Studio is a community-based dance and youth empowerment initiative founded by Brian Otieno Owino in Mathare, Nairobi, Kenya. It was created to give children and young people from underserved communities a safe place to discover their talents, build confidence, and find hope through dance and mentorship.

The studio's mission goes beyond choreography. It focuses on:
Developing dance talent in children and youth from informal settlements.
Providing mentorship, life skills, and positive role models.
Keeping young people away from crime, drug abuse, and negative peer pressure.
Creating opportunities through performances, collaborations, and international partnerships.
Building confidence, discipline, leadership, and resilience through the arts.
From our conversations, you've described the studio as a family that has endured many challenges—including losing rehearsal spaces, financial struggles, hunger, and periods when the studio had to close temporarily. Despite these obstacles, you have continued reopening, rebuilding, and encouraging the children to believe in themselves.
The studio is also expanding its vision by:
Seeking international volunteers and donors.
Producing creative projects such as the Eye One Cypher.
Sharing powerful stories through your memoir about growing up in the slums and using dance to transform lives.
Creating opportunities for African artists to collaborate across borders.
At its heart, Motivated Mindset Dancers Studio stands for the belief that talent should never be limited by poverty. Through dance, mentorship, and community, it aims to help young people replace hopelessness with purpose and transform their lives.
