I am a young man who believes that talent is gold, but talent becomes valuable when you work hard to develop it.
My journey did not begin on a big stage. I started as a local village comedian, simply using the talent and passion that God had given me. In 2022, I contested in Kirinyaga Got Talent, an experience that helped me discover more about myself and gave me the courage to believe that my talent could take me somewhere.
During that journey, the President of Kirinyaga told me that I had a good body shape for modelling. Instead of taking those words as a compliment and forgetting them, I saw them as an opportunity. I decided to learn, train and challenge myself.
Through online learning, personal training and determination, I eventually became Mr Kirinyaga 2022–2023.
At first, I looked at the title simply as a win. But with time, I realised that it was much more than a crown. It became a motivation, a reflection of who I am and a reminder that opportunities only become meaningful when you are willing to work for them.
I continued with modelling and took part in different platforms, including Mr Climate Kenya, where I emerged as 2nd runners-up. Along the way, different companies and organisations supported and sponsored my modelling journey, and every opportunity taught me something new.
By God's grace, my journey eventually took me beyond my county and onto the African modelling stage, where I earned the opportunity to become Mr Culture Africa.
Today, being recognised as Best Model is therefore not just another award to me. It represents years of learning, discipline, rejection, opportunity, sacrifice, faith and hard work.
I am deeply grateful to the award organisers for recognising my journey and believing that my contribution to modelling deserves to be celebrated.
My story is a message to every young person, especially those coming from villages and humble backgrounds:
Never despise your talent. Never be ashamed of where you come from. An opportunity may look small when it comes, but what you do with it can change your life.
I started as a village comedian. I became Mr Kirinyaga. I continued learning and modelling, represented myself on bigger platforms, and eventually became Mr Culture Africa.
My journey is still continuing.
I believe that when you work hard, remain teachable, take opportunities seriously and trust God, you don't just win because you were lucky — you win because you worked for it.
Thank you to everyone who has supported my journey, every company that has sponsored me, every mentor who has encouraged me, and the award company for recognising me as Best Model.
This recognition is not the end of my journey.
It is another motivation to work harder, inspire more young people and take Kenyan and African talent to greater heights.
Talent is gold. Opportunity is a door. But hard work is what takes you through it.
