I am Shakir Omar, Mr Climate Kenya 2nd Runner Up, an environmental activist, climate action leader, Scout leader, youth advocate, and peace ambassador dedicated to promoting environmental conservation, climate innovation, youth empowerment, peacebuilding, and community resilience in ASAL regions.. Through tree-growing initiatives, environmental awareness campaigns, clean-up activities, climate education, and mentoring young people through Scouting and advocacy, I have empowered communities to adopt sustainable practices while fostering leadership, volunteerism, and peaceful coexistence. My work integrates climate action with peacebuilding by promoting dialogue, conflict resolution, and practical climate solutions to address the challenges of vulnerable communities. I believe I deserve the NOVA Climate Action Excellence Award because of my consistent leadership, measurable community impact, commitment to volunteer service, and dedication to inspiring and mobilizing others to build a greener, more resilient, and sustainable future.
